When we are referring to the kind of witchcraft that was practiced in the various regions of Italy throughout history we are not talking about an organized religion...but for sure, we are are talking about a pagan religion that was surviving through the ages...a sort of magical religion that was part of many other religions in the old pagan times before christianity came into place. There are too many similarities in the practices of all these Witchcrafts, in all regions of Italy....and we have 20 regions! And not only we have similarities between our regions, but we do have equal things, things in common with other nations of Europe too! If it was not a specific religion, It was actually impossible to have all things we have in common in our practices. This old pagan religion, today and in the centuries past known as witchcraft or as we call it here "stregoneria" it's a very loose religion, yet it has some stand points that makes it recognizable. It is not a religion of devotion and prayer...it's a cult of power, action, personal power. We use the occult powers to achieve wealth, personal success, protection, defence.... There's no moral ethic in it...how you use witchcraft and the powers linked to it it's completely up to you!
