The key Ethos of Tantra can be summed up in four terms found in Tantras, but not in Hindu literature- they are; Svecchacharya- “ Svecchacharya means a way of life where one acts as one wishes and does what is right in one’s own eyes. Doing one’s own Will. (Gurudev Mahendranath) Samarasa, means to be truly free of all things so that the mind is at rest, clear, open, free and calm. Next is Sama which means staying balanced and in a state of equilibrium in a state of consciousness which reflects neither attachment nor repulsion. Finally, importantly, is Sahaja which means a natural, open and unconditioned way of living within Nature. This important lifestyle goal still exists in Tantric sects
