The Gods and Spirits in traditional Lucanian Italian witchcraft are many and very particular. They are distortions of the ancient pagan Gods who populated our territory in pre-Christian times. Paganism in the Middle Ages was almost dead and all the remaining of the ancient pagan culture was something very distorted, dark and somehow demoniacal. It is, infact, in this precise historical context of pagan and Christian syncretism that the cult of Traditional Lucanian Witchcraft was born. We, as traditional witches and warlocks, believe in the devil, but our devil is not the Christian devil but actually we call him "Liber Pater" and stand together with the Horned Venus. These deities are special and can be found only and exclusively in the cult of Italian Traditional Lucanian Witchcraft. They are hybrid deities created by the witches themselves at the time, mixtures of the mighty roman Jupiter, Mithras Bacchus and the greek Hephaestus, as well as mixtures of some female deities like the goddess Venus, Mammona, Isis and Diana. These are powerful spirits that populate our pantheon and they are living, vibrant and powerful forces that can be part of our daily lives and give us a very concrete help for everyday matters.
